Best Fall Things to Do With Kids in Myrtle Beach in 2026

Fall might just be one of my favorite times of year to live in Myrtle Beach.

The summer crowds start thinning out, the weather becomes a little more comfortable, and suddenly there are pumpkins, festivals, corn mazes, Halloween events and family activities happening all over the Grand Strand.

And the best part? We can still have those beautiful beach days well into fall.

If you’re visiting Myrtle Beach in September, October or early November—or you’re a local family trying to fill your fall calendar—I’ve rounded up some of the best fall things to do with kids in Myrtle Beach in 2026.

From pumpkin patches and corn mazes to Halloween fun in Conway and some of our favorite annual festivals, here are the fall activities worth adding to your family calendar.

As always, dates, hours and activities can change because of weather or other circumstances, so double-check with the venue before heading out.

1. Spend a Fall Day at Thompson Farm & Nursery

📍 Conway, SC

If you’re looking for the classic pumpkin-patch experience near Myrtle Beach, Thompson Farm & Nursery is one of my top picks.

The historic farm in Conway goes all-out for fall, and there is enough here to turn a pumpkin-patch visit into an entire family outing.

For the 2026 fall season, families can look forward to things like:

  • A 6.5-acre corn maze
  • Farm animals
  • Pumpkin fun
  • Wagon rides
  • Giant slides
  • Jumping pillow
  • Games
  • Duck races
  • Gem mining
  • Play areas
  • Themed weekends

Different weekends throughout the season feature special themes and events, and Visit Myrtle Beach reports that the 2026 festivities continue through November 1.

MommaReview Tip: Give yourself more time than you think you’ll need here. This isn’t one of those pumpkin patches where you take a picture, grab a pumpkin and leave. The kids can easily spend hours playing.

2. Visit Southern Palmetto Farms

📍 Aynor, SC

Another fall day trip worth making is Southern Palmetto Farms in Aynor.

This is an especially good choice if your kids want more than just pumpkins. Fall activities include a 6-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, barrel train rides, giant slides, an inflatable jump pad, games, a trike track and Farm Animal Alley.

They also host themed activities during the season, so check the schedule before you go.

This would be a great one to pair with a Saturday drive out toward Aynor when you want something that feels completely different from the typical Myrtle Beach attractions.

3. Celebrate Harvest Home Weekend at Brookgreen Gardens

📍 Murrells Inlet, SC

Brookgreen Gardens is beautiful any time of year, but fall gives families another reason to visit.

The annual Harvest Home Weekend returns October 3–4, 2026.

Families can enjoy classic fall activities including the pumpkin patch and scarecrow building while still getting to explore the gardens and Lowcountry Zoo.

I love this option because you get the fall-festival feeling without giving up everything that makes Brookgreen special.

Make a full day of it: enjoy the festival activities, walk through the gardens, visit the animals and take plenty of fall family photos.

4. Experience Halloween, SC in Downtown Conway

📍 Downtown Conway, SC

If you haven’t visited downtown Conway during October yet, put it on your list.

The city has become known for transforming itself into The City of Halloween, SC, and it has quickly become one of the coolest Halloween experiences near Myrtle Beach.

The downtown area gets taken over by pumpkins, skeletons, lights and creative Halloween displays. In previous years, visitors have been able to walk beneath thousands of glowing pumpkins and explore displays including Skeleton Alley and the Tunnel of Bones.

The transformation runs throughout October, making this an easy activity to fit into your schedule even if you can’t make one of the bigger events.

MommaReview Tip: Go once during the daytime with younger kids and then come back one evening when everything is lit up. It feels completely different after dark.

And don’t forget the Conway Riverwalk while you’re downtown!

5. Go to the Surfside Beach Fall Family Festival

📍 Surfside Beach, SC

Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

The annual Surfside Beach Fall Family Festival takes over Surfside Drive and includes:

  • More than 125 arts and crafts vendors
  • Live music
  • Festival food
  • Kids’ activities
  • Two stages of entertainment

Even better: admission is free.

This is one of those easy fall events where you don’t necessarily need a detailed plan. Walk around, let the kids explore the Kids Zone, grab something yummy and enjoy being outside.

6. Take Fall Pictures at The Patch at Broadway at the Beach

📍 Myrtle Beach, SC

You don’t have to drive out to a farm to get cute pumpkin pictures.

Broadway at the Beach brings fall right into Myrtle Beach with The Patch, located near The Hangout and PopStroke.

The seasonal setup includes pumpkins and fall décor, plus you’ll find additional seasonal displays around Broadway’s bridges, landscaping and boardwalk areas.

It’s a fun stop if you’re already planning an afternoon at Broadway.

Take your fall pictures and then let the kids pick an activity—visit the aquarium, play mini golf, grab dinner or just walk around.

7. Visit The Pumpkin Shack at Barefoot Landing

📍 North Myrtle Beach, SC

Barefoot Landing is another easy place to add a little fall fun to your day.

During October, The Pumpkin Shack transforms Dockside Village with pumpkins and autumn décor. You’ll also find whimsical hay-bale art and other fall photo opportunities around the property.

This is a good option if you’re looking for something low-key rather than committing to an entire pumpkin-patch day.

Take pictures, walk around Barefoot Landing, let the kids play and stay for dinner.

8. Celebrate BooFest! at Barefoot Landing

📍 North Myrtle Beach, SC

Come back to Barefoot Landing on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for BooFest!

The family-friendly Halloween celebration runs from noon–4 p.m. and includes children’s and pet costume contests, costumed stilt walkers and additional Halloween activities. Registration for the costume contests begins at 11 a.m.

This is a great excuse to let the kids wear their Halloween costumes more than once—which is always a win after spending money on them!

9. Trick-or-Treat at Barefoot Landing

📍 North Myrtle Beach, SC

If you’re wondering where to trick-or-treat around Myrtle Beach on Halloween, Barefoot Landing has already announced its 2026 event.

Participating merchants will hand out treats on Saturday, October 31, from 5–7 p.m.

Dress everyone up, bring the candy buckets and make a night of it.

10. Explore a Smaller Local Pumpkin Patch

Sometimes you don’t need the rides, giant attractions and full-day experience. You just want to pick out pumpkins and take a few cute pictures.

Several smaller pumpkin patches and church pumpkin sales typically pop up around the Grand Strand.

Visit Myrtle Beach’s updated 2026 pumpkin-patch guide lists locations including:

  • Socastee United Methodist Church
  • Surfside United Methodist Church
  • Trinity United Methodist Church
  • First United Methodist Church in Conway
  • Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Conway
  • Salem United Methodist Church in Conway
  • Mary Beth’s Sustainable Foods in Pawleys Island

These can be especially nice with younger kids when a giant fall festival feels like too much.

11. Spend a Fall Day at Huntington Beach State Park

📍 Murrells Inlet, SC

One of the best things about fall in Myrtle Beach is finally being able to spend hours outside without feeling like you’re melting.

Huntington Beach State Park is perfect for a fall family day.

Walk the beach, look for birds and wildlife, explore the trails and visit Atalaya Castle.

Fall also brings the annual arts and crafts festival at Atalaya, making this area especially fun to explore during the season.

Pack snacks or a picnic and slow down for the afternoon. Not every family outing needs an attraction attached to it.

12. Visit Myrtle Beach State Park

📍 Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach State Park is another favorite when the weather cools down.

Walk the nature trails, hunt for shells, visit the nature center or just let the kids play on the beach.

And don’t assume beach season ends when school starts!

One of my favorite things about living in Myrtle Beach is that September—and sometimes even October—can still give us gorgeous beach weather.

The difference is that you’re often enjoying it with much smaller crowds than you would in July.

art_in_the_park_at_the_market

13. Go to Art in the Park at The Market Common

📍 Myrtle Beach, SC

Have a little artist in the family?

Art in the Park returns to Valor Park at The Market Common on October 10–11, 2026.

The show features original work and reproductions from artists working in painting, photography, pottery, woodworking, jewelry and other mediums.

After browsing the artwork, make it a family afternoon.

Head over to Savannah’s Playground, walk around the lake, grab lunch or ice cream and explore The Market Common.

14. Go to the Myrtle Beach Greek Festival

📍 Myrtle Beach, SC

Come hungry for this one!

The Myrtle Beach Greek Festival is scheduled for October 15–18, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.

Expect Greek food and pastries, live entertainment, cultural activities and church tours.

Admission is listed at $5 for adults, while children 10 and younger are free.

It’s a fun opportunity to introduce kids to different foods and traditions—and I’m personally never going to complain about an outing involving Greek pastries.

loris_bogoff_festival

15. Experience the Loris Bog-Off Festival

📍 Loris, SC

If you’ve never had chicken bog, you’re definitely in the right part of South Carolina to try it.

The annual Loris Bog-Off Festival takes place each year on the third Saturday in October and celebrates one of the area’s most recognizable local dishes.

Beyond the food, families can expect the kind of small-town festival atmosphere that makes fall weekends so much fun—vendors, entertainment and activities.

It’s a bit of a drive from central Myrtle Beach, but it can make for a fun fall day trip.

mini_golf_in_myrtle_beach

16. Take the Kids Mini Golfing in the Cooler Weather

You can’t make a Myrtle Beach list without mentioning mini golf.

We’re known as the Mini Golf Capital of the World, and fall may actually be a better time to play than summer.

No blazing afternoon sun. No standing around sweating while your child takes 14 attempts at the same hole. 😂

Pick a fun themed course, grab ice cream afterward and call it a Myrtle Beach fall night.

fall_beach_picnic_in_myrtle_beach

17. Have a Fall Beach Picnic

This might be the simplest activity on this entire list—and one of the best.

Grab sandwiches or takeout, bring a blanket and head to the beach around sunset.

Fall evenings can be absolutely beautiful along the Grand Strand, and you don’t need to spend $100 on an attraction to make a family memory.

Let the kids run around, collect shells and get sandy while you watch the sun go down.

Cost: FREE—unless somebody talks you into ice cream afterward.

And let’s be honest, they probably will.

ripleys_aquarium_in_myrtle_beach_sc

18. Save a Rainy Fall Day for Ripley’s Aquarium

📍 Broadway at the Beach

Fall weather isn’t perfect every day, so keep Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach in your back pocket.

It’s completely indoors and works for toddlers through bigger kids, making it one of our easiest rainy-day activities.

Walk through the shark tunnel, see the penguins, visit the touch exhibits and then spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Broadway at the Beach.

It’s also an easy activity to pair with The Patch if the weather clears.

Why Fall Is One of the Best Times to Visit Myrtle Beach With Kids

Everyone thinks of Myrtle Beach as a summer destination, but fall is seriously underrated.

By September, many families have headed home for the school year, which can mean fewer crowds and shorter waits. Fall also tends to bring lower accommodation prices than peak summer, while the Grand Strand continues hosting festivals and seasonal events.

And unlike destinations where everything shuts down after Labor Day, there is still plenty happening around Myrtle Beach.

You can have a pumpkin-patch morning and a beach afternoon.

That’s a pretty hard combination to beat.
